What Makes YOU special?

ASM 201 Journal Entry #4

Many generations ago did we all really live in Africa? If we did how did we became spread apart across the world? The world is very big and many things could have happened in these pass generations, including we all use to share something in common in Africa. If we did share something in common then why did we decide to separate into different groups. Therefore causing use to live in different places across the world.

What are the scientific and technological advances necessary to accomplish this Genographic project? There defiantly has to be many advanced tools needed to find the information we need to tell us if this is true. We would also need a lot of people who are willing to do experiments in order to find out this information. Since most people would be interested in finding out where everybody came from they wouldn't have a problem with that.

Could Researchers have accomplished this project 100 years ago? 50? 25? The answer would most likely be no, because 100 years ago we would never have had the technology to find the information we would need to. 5o years ago would still be a huge gap from finding the correct information. 25 years ago could have been possible but i would have been very difficult to accomplish it. Now we are possibly able to accomplish what we need in order to find this information.

Why is the Timing of the Genographic Project important? It is important because if we were to wait too long the stuff we would have needed would have disappeared and we would never we able to find that piece of information again. It is also important because if we didn't wait long enough we would never be able to create the tools needed in order to help us find the information.

In conclusion we would have to require a lot of work in order for us to find out the truth if we all used to live in a part of Africa and for what reason did we all split apart for.

Hi Angus!

I agree with your comments
We would not be able to accomplish a proper tracing project of our past without the modern technology that we have today.
